Guitar Fretboard Chart
The Guitar Fretboard Chart will help you learn the names of all the notes on the fretboard.
If you're serious about learning the Guitar, then you really need to know them.
This is essential because you will constantly need to find the Root Notes, 3rds, 5ths etc. of Chords and Scales. And you'll need to find them fast!
It looks like a lot to learn but if you follow my advice, you will master this in a very short time.
For beginners, here's a chart showing the names of The Parts Of The Fretboard.
Here is a technique that I teach to all newbies, to allow them to name any note anywhere on the fretboard quickly!
Guitar Fretboard Chart

Start with the bottom E string and without even thinking about sharps or flats, memorise the note names (naturals only) by naming them over and over. This is very easy and should only take a few minutes.
Make sure you can go instantly to the required note without having to work your way up the string. When you can do this, you are ready to learn the A string.
Take the same aproach and make sure that your memorised notes do not get mixed up in your head.
You should now be able to go to any note on the two bottom strings of the fretboard instantly. If you want to find a sharp or flat note (eg F sharp), just put you finger on an F and then move it up one fret. If you want D flat, just put you finger on a D and move it down one fret. Easy!
Now that you are an expert on the two bottom strings, you can find any note anywhere on the fretboard by "cheating".
Let's say you want to find a G note on the D string. Just put your finger on the G note of the bottom E string, slide up 2 frets and across 2 strings and your'e there. See Chart 2 : Very quick and easy with no extra learning involved!
Chart 2

You can do exactly the same to find notes on the G string. Simply find the required note on the A string, then move up 2 frets and across 2 strings.
To find any note on the B string, you need to compare it to notes on the D string, however, this time you need to move up 3 frets instead of 2, due to the tuning of the guitar. See Chart 2 .
It's a really useful system, but you still can't beat memorising every single note, if you can do it. Some people can't, so just do what you feel is best for yourself.
